A little bit of happy mail, every month.
The Monthly Postcard Club is a snail mail subscription from illustrator Esther Nariyoshi: three original illustrated postcards mailed to you each month.
Expect botanical, food, and everyday lifestyle illustrations, made to pin above your desk, slip into a journal, or send on to someone you love.
What you get each month
- 3 original illustrated postcards
- 4.25 x 5.5 inches, printed on thick eggshell paper that feels lovely in your hands
- Mailed to you in an envelope, so they arrive clean and ready to enjoy
- Shipping to your door is included
Pricing
- US: $12 a month ($4.00 per card)
- International: $14 a month ($4.67 per card)
If you’d like to mail a card on to a friend, you’ll just need to add your own stamp.
When your postcards arrive
- I mail the club envelopes within the first week of every month.
- Join between the 1st and the 25th and you’ll get that month’s envelope. If that month’s mailing has already gone out, I’ll mail yours within a few business days.
- Join on or after the 26th and your first envelope is next month’s, mailed in the first week.
- Our very first mailing goes out in November.
How billing works
Your first payment is made when you join. After that, your subscription renews automatically on the 26th of each month, and each payment covers the next month’s envelope.
I bill a little ahead so I know exactly how many cards to print. Your envelope goes out within the first week of the month.
| You join | Paid at checkout | Your first envelope | Next charge | Next envelope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Before the 26th | This month’s envelope | Mailed within a few business days | The 26th of this month | Next month’s envelope, mailed in the first week of next month |
| On or after the 26th | Next month’s envelope | Mailed in the first week of next month | The 26th of next month | The following month’s envelope, mailed in its first week |
If you join late in the month, your next charge on the 26th may come soon after. That payment is for next month’s envelope, not a double charge.

FAQ
What kind of art is on the cards?
My own illustrations. Mostly botanicals, food, and small everyday moments, in a warm, hand-drawn style. Each envelope has three different designs.
Can I write on them and mail them?
Yes. The back has a dot grid for your note and a box for the stamp. Add your own stamp and they’re ready to send.
Are they good for journaling or scrapbooking?
I hope so. The paper is thick and takes glue, tape, and pen well. A lot of people tuck them into journals or pin them on the wall.
Can I choose which designs I get?
Not at the moment. Every member gets the same three cards each month. Part of the fun is not knowing what’s inside.
How long does shipping take?
In the US, usually a few days after I mail them. International envelopes can take one to three weeks, depending on the country.
Can I cancel or skip a month?
Of course, anytime. Cancel before the 26th and you won’t be charged for the next month. You can also join for just one month and cancel after.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes! Just enter your friend’s address as the shipping address at checkout. It makes a lovely gift for pen pals, journalers, and anyone who misses getting real mail.
What if I move or my envelope doesn’t arrive?
Update your address before the 1st so the next envelope finds you. If an envelope goes missing, email me and I’ll make it right.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Cards travel by regular post, without tracking.
Is this a good snail mail subscription for adults?
That’s exactly who it’s for. It’s a small, simple way to get something nice in your mailbox each month, from an artist rather than a company.
Who packs the envelopes?
I do, at my desk in Michigan. Every envelope is addressed and packed by hand.
I have another question.
Email me at hello@esthernariyoshi.com. I read every message.
Thank you for letting me send a little art your way.

About
Creative Process
My process is intentionally slow. Each illustration is drawn by hand, built from materials I've tested and chosen myself. Nothing makes it into my work until I know how it behaves. I don't use AI-generated imagery; every mark is made with intention. It's a human process, and that's exactly the point.
